Software Version: This class is taught on Microsoft 2003 Excel and Access software. Our instructor is able to provide some in-class instruction for Microsoft 2007 users.
Course Description: Many data analysts use both Access and Excel to analyze data. Both Access and Excel are powerful programs. But do you know which tool is better for your specific task? Take this two-day information-packed course to learn to use Excel's "flat" database features and Access' "relational" database features in a meaningful way. Learn to Sort, Filter and Query large amounts of data.
Prerequisite Skills Necessary for Class: Participants must understand the basic concepts of Access including how to open a database and look at the basics of tables. Participants will also need to know Excel basics including how to build a basic function (such as sum or multiple) and also use Excel on a regular basis.
What to Expect: After this class participants will be able to use Access and Excel to manage and analyze large amounts of data.
What NOT to Expect: This class in not designed to teach you how to build a database to track data. The purpose of this class is to focus on Queries and Data Analysis. Participants will learn how to import data or to manage existing data.

Gary Cloud
Gary Cloud with Cloud Training Services has been teaching computer classes since 1996. He trains on a variety of computer software products-both industry-specific and off-the-shelf. However, a major focus of his training has been on training Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook. During his years of training he has worked with a variety of industries, including banking. utility, medical, local and state government and higher education.
Gary holds a B.A. from Texas Wesleyan University and a M.A.M. from Wayland Baptist University.
